Aloha!
This week's show was very enlightening and exciting. Shayne Greenland, the Academy Principal for Business at Campbell High School (he largest high school in Hawaii located on the west side of Oahu – think Ewa and Kapolei) told us how he and his team are getting the students ready for entering the workforce and being successful. This includes internships, work study, learning a trade and college. What a great program and something all high school (Kauai already doing this) should be offering. Congrats Campbell High School!

Also, tax season is here and so are the tax scams! These scammers are out in full force and using very aggressive tactics to get you to give them your money. Do not fall for these scams! Steve Pingree, one of the leading tax defense attorney's in Hawaii, offers some very sage advice:
- The IRS never calls people to collect money.
- The IRS never threatens jail or bank seizure over the phone.
- The IRS never demands debit card info or money orders.
- Repeat IRS never telephones people—hang up immediately 👍
Finally, this was the lead story on KHON Fox Tuesday night (some may have already seen this) about the scams currently hitting Hawaii. Very serious situation, especially for our Kapuna (elderly). The scammers are very aggressive and pushing for an immediate payment or they threaten jail or bank account seizure. Never pay by phone. Never meet an IRS agent anywhere other than in clearly identifiable IRS offices. And always be skeptical.

Please listen carefully to my commentary warning of the risk and pass the word to warn everyone of this very aggressive scam.
