Tax Reform Immediate Action Items!

For those who are interested in the current tax reform, please see my current (published today) article in Hawaii Business Magazine.

Immediate action items for 2017 – if you have not already, take all the deductions you can for 2017.  Prepay expenses if possible. Defer revenue to 2018.  Deposit checks or process invoices after January 1, 2018.

Time for tax planning.  Rule of thumb, which is even more important this year (tax rates expected to be going down next year), where you can, defer income to next year and accelerate your expenses.  There are ways this can be done, and the savings could be huge.  Talk with your tax preparer and act in December before you miss the opportunity and it's too late.
